Well, it has been some time since the last post, which means I get to spend some time catching up on what's been going on. I just got off of a short (month long) semester here in Japan and I'm now on Spring Vacation - which is also a month. Over the semester I worked on a research project to discover how much impact modern communication technology has had on the fundamental core of Japanese society. To sum up a lot of work: not a whole lot. I found that both surprising an interesting. I'll likely post the paper up here at some point. I've had another column posted up as well, continuing the last one. This one is on player-made factions. I would like to it, but I seem to be having some issues with Joomla! at the moment. However, yes, there has only been one new column. Sadly, there's been some weirdness over at WarCry lately - and really has been for a while. It seems to be settled down again, so hopefully new columns can start going up again on a regular basis. On an interesting note, I've actually gone back to the roots lately. I've been playing one of Iron Realm Entertainment's MUDs, Lusternia. More on that later. Tags: ire lusternia

Almost forgot to link this here, but I've got another column up over at WarCry. This one deals with the benefits and negatives of Open PvP systems, dealing specifically with the community of the game. So, if you're curious about my various ramblings as to whether or not Open PvP is largely beneficial or not, feel free to check out the article. Tags: pvp warcry column community

Well, the site seems to be up and running. While the domain and a proper host hasn't been obtained yet, and there are still a few more pieces of content that'll need to get up before this goes live, I'm feeling pretty happy over all. That and a new banner. We'll have to work on that... But regardless, the site runs. Tags: domain hosting about

I learned something today. In a Japanese theater, when the seats are completely sold out... you can still buy a ticket. Apparently the term 'fire hazard' is unknown, as you are allowed to stand/sit behind the seats and in the aisles.
Regardless, I'm happy for it as it let me catch a viewing of the new Evangelion movie while getting an interesting cultural experience. However, I completely recommend getting tickets in advance if you're going to a showing in Japan!
Oh. As for the movie... Pretty. Very, very pretty. Tags: evangelion movie japan

Happy New Year! Muaha, I advance into 2008 before anyone else I know! - well, those who aren't in Japan anyhow. I hope that all of you have a fantastic new year, and that 2008 will be good to you. Tags: new year 2008
